I go to a little Catholic church in a small town on Maui almost every Sunday. One Sunday during mass, I looked outside and noticed a sturdy tree standing beside the church. It is beautiful and strong, and I couldn’t help but wonder if hearing the good word every day had somehow contributed to its beauty.
That tree was once just a tiny seed. Over time, it sprouted and grew, eventually becoming a home for birds and a quiet part of the church itself—rooted beside it, growing alongside it.
I’ve seen scientific experiments that explore how positive and negative intentions can affect water—how kind words can create beautiful, structured patterns, while negative words can create chaotic ones. In many ways, prayer feels similar. It is a way of nurturing something unseen, helping it grow into something strong. So even if you aren’t religious you can still see the magic of positive intentional energy.
This children’s book was inspired by that tree next to my church.
A Little Seed of Faith was written for children ages 3 to 5. It teaches them to see their faith as a tiny seed—something small that, with care and belief, can grow into something strong and beautiful, just like a tree.
As a way of giving back, I will be donating 100% of the proceeds from this book to my church.
The eBook is currently available on Kindle for $2.99. A hardcover edition is in progress and will be available soon for $24.99 once the final proof is approved. For those who are curious, after Kindle’s fees, about $1 from each eBook and approximately $3.34 from each hardcover sale will go directly toward supporting my church. Thank you and mahalo!
