I graced the Mai-Kai stage from 2008 to 2013. The Mai-kai was first opened in 1956. It may be the longest continued Polynesian Review in America including Hawai’i. They shut down during Covid and did a major renovation. They finally reopened about three weeks ago. I am hoping to visit in a few months and see all the changes. The costume I am wearing represents the ocean. For our Tahitian segment we were assigned an element to portray during our solos. The belt was actually made from cut up blue shower liners and mother of pearl. A friend of mine created the head piece and put the belt together.
