Visiting the Mai Kai in South Florida

It’s hard to believe it’s been 12 years since I last stepped off the Mai Kai stage. Walking back through those doors felt like stepping into a time capsule, where the memories of my past performances came rushing back, but the magic of the place had remained untouched. I was thrilled to see that the recent restorations didn’t alter the ambiance at all—it still felt like the same enchanting spot I had always known.

The evening was a perfect blend of nostalgia and new experiences. The Pina Colada tasted exactly as I remembered, sweet and creamy, and we couldn’t resist ordering a few appetizers. If you visit, be sure to try the breaded shrimp and the calamari—they’re as delicious as ever.

A stroll through the lush gardens was another highlight, with just a few subtle changes here and there. It still had that same tranquil vibe, the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time while soaking in the beauty of the tropical surroundings.

The show, as always, was captivating. The dancers brought the cultures to life with such grace and respect, creating a performance that was both visually stunning and deeply moving. And, of course, I had to visit the gift shop—it’s still just as charming as I remembered, offering an array of beautiful island-themed gifts that are perfect for taking a little piece of the Mai Kai home with you.

All in all, my visit was a wonderful trip down memory lane, and I left with a heart full of gratitude for the experiences I had there. If you ever get the chance to experience it for yourself, I highly recommend it—you won’t be disappointed.
